WIAW + A Day in My Crazy Life

Happy hump day! We’ve finally made it to the halfway point of the week and I couldn’t be more ready for the weekend. Things have been ramping up at work lately, so I’ve been crazy busy during the day and haven’t been able to sleep well at night because my body apparently still hates daylight savings. Fingers crossed that I finally can get a good night sleep tonight before a TOUGH track workout tomorrow morning!

After a deeper post yesterday on trusting the training process, I decided to keep it light today and walk through a day in my crazy life plus pictures of food because I know that’s always my favorite! πŸ™‚ So here we go with a recap of life on Monday. Thanks for the link up Arman!

5:20AM: Alarm goes off. It definitely feels like 4:20 instead. I hate daylight savings. Roll out of bed anyway because I know I’ve got a run to get in and won’t be able to do it in the afternoon.

5:40AM – 6:50AM: 6 miles on the treadmill with the middle 4 at 8 minute pace. This run felt a lot smoother than my run last week thank goodness! I wrap up my workout with a 10-minute core circuit and some stretching.

7:05AM: Back home to get ready for work. I get ready in 25 minutes and spend the next 15 doing some quick work on the blog.

7:45AM: Out the door and headed to the office.

8:00 – 9:00AM: Catch up on emails and eat breakfast. On today’s menu is my latest obsession– Peanut Butter Banana Overnight Oats. 1/2 cup of oats, 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1 big spoonful fage plain greek yogurt, 1 big spoonful PB, and 1 ginormous banana

snack

9:00AM – 11:00AM: Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Plus around 10:45 I snuck in my first snack of the day, a slice of this incredibly delicious (but apparently not very photogenic) blueberry bread.

11:00-11:45AM: First meeting of the day. Surprisingly I hadn’t been in any meetings early this morning, which was nice because I was able to knock out majority of my to-do list!

11:45-12:15PM: Head outside to go on a quick walk. I’ve learned that getting outside even for just 15 minutes in the middle of my work day has helped me feel so much better!

lunch

12:15: Lunchtime! On the menu today is a sweet potato-kale bowl. This sucker is filled with roasted sweet potatoes, sautΓ©ed kale/pepper/onion mix, and topped with 2 runny eggs. So yummy and SO filling!

12:30 – 3:30PM: More meetings. My afternoon was full of them, so my to-do list filled right back up.

snack2

3:30PM: Snack #2. This time, in honor of national pie day, I had a Cherry Pie Larabar. Not nearly as good as an ooey-gooey slice of real pie, but it left me content. After this was inhaled, I attacked the remainder of my to-do’s.

5:00PM: Head on home to do a little blog work before Bart gets off work. I’m able to knock out a blog post and clean up a few things. This weekends mission –> finish cleaning up this blog!

Oh hey running shoes! πŸ™‚

6:20PM: Meet Bart at his bus stop and drive him back to the apartment. Decide I’m still hungry and munch on these yummy guys that I scored at Costco as we start to cook dinner.

7:00PM: Dinnertime! On the menu tonight was a yummy salmon rice bowl. This was filled with oven-baked salmon marinaded in Yoshino’s teriyaki sauce, brown rice, half an avocado and eggs. Clearly I was all about the bowls today.

8:00PM: The Bachelor starts…About 30 minutes in I head back into the kitchen for another snack. This time, it’s Chicago Mix popcorn from Costco. Addicted!!

Spoiler alert: Lauren B. wins and I couldn’t be more excited!!! Go PNW!

10:00PM: I decide to hit the hay and end up tossing and turning for about an hour before I finally crash. Gotta get some good Z’s before I wake up and do it all over again πŸ™‚

And that was my day. Nothing too fancy or crazy, but I’ve started to love my little routine. And clearly I love food πŸ™‚

Have a fabulous Wednesday and eat something yummy!

  1. Busy busy! All this productivity requires good food – which you most definitely had. Especially drooling over your salmon rice dinner. I’m going to have to borrow your idea for that one. Also needing to try some chicago mix popcorn… I’m embarrassed to say I’ve never had it!
